Coffee, smoffee!

Dear Starbucks,

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to tell you how much I miss you. I know I am going to lose my gold member status this year, but that's okay I will be back in 2012. We have Starbucks set up in our office & I had a decaf coffee today, it wasn't the same. As you can tell from the color, I also drowned the decaf in creamer.

packing moving packing

When I think of a good time, I will never think of any time when I packed or moved. This time was no exception. Today should be the last day of packing & all moving should be completed by tomorrow (fingers crossed).

I am moving back to my parents, which I can say being 30, pregnant & not married has been a quite sad experience. Several tears have been shed the past couple days, especially last night. But then I stopped and thought, this is setting my child and I up for a much more comfortable pregnancy and hopefully, able to pay all the medical bills off before the baby comes in September. This is all teaching me more and more about my love for my child and sacrifices that I need (and want) to make. It is a little crazy how all my priorities will forever be different.

I am so grateful for my wonderful family who is being supportive and doing everything they can to help me. I love them so much.

My little peach

Our little baby is the size of a peach this week!

  • Bone is beginning to replace cartilage and the ribs are appearing.
  • The nose and chin are well defined.
  • Movements can be measured.
  • The child will begin to learn to suck its thumb.
  • The child can open and close its mouth.
And pregnancy is a lot more stressful than I thought, this week and moving forward I am focusing on the baby & not letting the outside cause too much stress on my body and ultimately, the baby.

    babydaddy

First, Nick & I are incapable of taking a normal picture together (note: not a real cigarette in my hand). One day, I am sure we will be regretful of this. Second, I love my Nicholas so much. He is an amazing single father and loves his daughter with every ounce of his being. Our relationship and communication continues to grow and become stronger every single day. He fills my heart up. Lastly, there is not one other person in this whole world I would ever want to be the father of my child. I feel very blessed to have him in my life.

    Bump...or rumpshaker

So, there is definitely a bump there & I have gained 6.5 lbs. My best friend, Shannon, thinks I was sticking my stomach out but I wasn't! This is Shannon, she is the best & is really concerned about our health and progress - love her. I want to remember all my friends who were really involved with my pregnancy and my child's life.

Here is the bump - it looks bigger in real life & I am wider - good-bye waistline and hello big rumpshaker!

This is me waving goodbye to the First Trimester!

Whew!! Our baby doesn't look like an alien anymore! Which makes sense - since - I now eat like a 350lb man. I was watching the show, One Born Every Minute, and this one baby came out and seriously looked like an alien. The forehead area was so flat and long, it was creepy looking. Luckily, the baby was healthy & ultimately, that's all that matters.

Here's what is up with our baby beep at 12 weeks:

"The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be" - Baby Center

WARNING (this is gross): I have been gagging, or puking up this yellow slimey fluid. Ewww..I know!
