Random Thoughts of a Pregnant Chick

She needs a dress like this for Kyle & Amy's wedding...but I need to find one on sale
  • I told Nick I felt like I was a dragon...Why, because my whole chest & throat is on fire
  • Do people know if they don't have a cute baby? I feel like they don't.....
  • Who bought the 4-5 items on my registry that I never got...they are good gifts too - we need them!
  • Nick, Alyssa & I all randomly hang out in Lyla's room
  • I accidentally ordered $61 in leg warmers last night....I had a coupon code & didn't enter it properly & my card got overcharged...but the site credited me today, so all is good in the world
  • everything hurts
  • I am forgetting everything
  • Pregnancy can be lonely at times
  • Shaving is hard, painting my toenails is even harder - I need a pedicure, who is in?
  • And I am very emotional lately...more than my usual over-the-top emotional self
  • Lyla sleeps all day & moves the most after 7pm - let's hope this changes
  • When will my face get fat or nose get fat?
  • Why do I want to buy her everything?
  • I think all Lyla's 4d pics look different, I don't have the slightest clue what she will look like
  • I can't wait to kiss and hold my baby girl....

Showers done! 7 1/2 weeks to go!

I looked over at Nick last night & I said, "Can you believe in a little over 7 weeks we are going to have our baby here!" It all still seems so fantastic to me - fantastic meaning wonderful but unreal. When I went to the doctor on Tuesday, she was in the head down position; she could, of course, move again. From what I have been reading, babies are most comfortable in this position. Her little body is sensitive to temperature so no more setting my hot laptop on my bump!

The showers that past 2 Sundays have been absolutely wonderful. At yesterday's shower, we had so much fun! She got some super cute clothes, her highchair, a bin full of necessities, a bunch of books (so happy) & some other random goodies! We played some fun games - thanks Aunt Amy! Guests had to guess how big I was....everyone thought I was bigger than I really was - thanks all for thinking I am a fat @ss (just kidding)!

As soon as I get some pics I will share! Nesting continues, I just need a better way to organize her room. I need a bookshelf or small dresser for organizing. I did fall getting out of bed last night to pee (I pee about 6-8 times a night). It hurt my stomach for second, but I am positive we are fine. I think my scream scared everyone (Nick, Kelso, Sienna & Lyla)  more than anything. Lyla was moving around and wide awake after the tumble!

Songbird

My beautiful, talented long-time friend, Amanda Williams (she is lead singer in a band) made me a CD of music that I can listen to when she is born. I started listening to it immediately, since she can hear from inside my tummy and I hope to get a little CD player for her room so we can play CDs.

Have you ever felt so full of positive emotion that it brought you to tears? There has only been several times in my life when I have felt so full of love & emotion that I have been brought to tears, almost all of them have been because of Nick and our little girl.  On my way to work yesterday, I started crying while listening to the CD, the thought of holding her in my arms seems almost surreal, seems too wonderful.

God has truly blessed me and filled my life with love. I hope that I can be the best mommy to our little girl, a wonderful stepmother to Alyssa and an amazing, loving & supportive wife to Nick. There is nothing in the world I could want more than what God is about to give me in 8 weeks.

Songbird by Fleetwood Mac - thanks Amanda, I love this song!

"And I love you, I love you , I love you, like never before..."

The World's Tallest Stack of Onesies

Just did some of Baby Lanham's laundry (yes, I used baby safe laundry detergent) and she has an insane amount of clothes for not even being born yet. She got a few summery outfits at the shower on Sunday, I hope she can wear them when she comes! I have gotten a few doubles - hint, always give gift receipts, hopefully, there will be no issues returning or I guess I will just donate the doubles.

Makes me feel very blessed that we have such wonderful friends and family who have helped make sure she comes into this world in style! :)

31 weeks til she comes storming in!

She is almost 3.5 lbs & is compared to the size of four navel oranges - let's hope she doesn't gain anymore than 5lbs in the next 9 weeks. And, I did get several newborn outfits...not sure if she will be able to wear those if she gains anymore than that.

Baby Lanham is now even more awesome and all five senses are working (can't actually smell anything in my tummy though) but she will respond to changes in light.
For me, sleep is getting harder, but I can't complain - on the bright side, I guess it is preparing me for her arrival and the sleepless nights. In addition, it is getting harder and harder for me to concentrate as all I can think about is her and everything we have left to do :)
